I purchased my first house 4 years ago in November. Gene Gourley lived 2 houses up the street. He has been not just a great neighbor, but a well trusted friend and companion. Whenever he saw me, he would greet me with kindness and good nature in spite of his personal circumstances. He offered many kind words and inspiration about work I've engaged in on my property. He would often walk up the sidewalk up to my corner, and share the latest news and stories. He will be greatly missed.

Thank you for your kinds words and sentiment. My dad spoke highly of you as well. He was always talking about all the great work you were doing on your house and what it was doing for the neighborhood.

There are no words! I've lost the greatest man I've ever known. He was a gentle, loving, kind father. The rock we all depended on! I cannot imagine my life without you in it and I know the hardest days are yet to come. My only comfort is knowing that you are now at peace and no longer suffering. Your life will always be a vivid one, the epitome of greatness and sacrifice that you gave to your family. I miss you dad. In you, I've lost a father, a friend and an idol who I looked up to. I can never express how grateful I am for all that you and mom have done for me.
May you rest peacefully in heaven.
I love you!!
