James Roger Rutledge Jr, 64, of Indianapolis passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017.  James was born in Oakland City on November 27, 1952 to the late James R  Sr. and Beverly (Foxworthy) Rutledge. He was a used car lot owner before retiring.  James was very frugal.  He loved the ocean and being on the water, whether it was boating or fishing or just being around it.  He liked to work on cars and was very talented at body work.  He liked to maintain his yard and would sometimes water his grass in the rain.  He liked to laugh and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  His daughters maintain that he loved his grandkids more than he loved them.  He used to sneak them treats, passing them off as his own or telling them that ice cream was healthy.

James is survived by his children, Michelle Quirke, Jennifer Rutledge, Jamie Rutledge, Demi Rutledge, and Emily Rutledge; his grandchildren Gentry Hacker, Dustin Edward Hacker Jr, Quintin Hacker, Kadin Harris, Mikaela Harris, Eli Harris, Macy Devish, Gavin Devish, Raymond Milton Hunter III, Avery Pham, and Lucas Lawson; and two great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents James is preceded in passing by the mother of his children, Glenda Mae Rutledge and Rebecca Sue Rutledge; and a son, James R Rutledge III.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 4 PM, on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services.  Visitation will be from 2 PM until the hour of service.
