Wonda Coleen (Surber) Smith

Wonda Coleen Smith, 61, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 22, 2023.

Wonda was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 25, 1961 to Willard T Surber and Daisy (Wilmoth) Troxell. Wonda was stubborn, a family trait that she could take to new heights. She lived by her terms and her way.  As grumbly as she could be, Wonda was always there when it mattered. She would do anything for someone she cared about, and you could always count on her.  Wonda loved her Penn Station and she had a talent for getting others to indulge her, she said it tasted best when someone else bought it.  She liked camping when she was able.  Wonda was never without a blanket, she liked to be bundled as she was forever cold.  She absolutely adored her family, she was a great sister, a great mom, and a loving grandmother, or "Gigi".  She did everything she could with her grandbabies, and later her great-grandbabies. From baking cookies at Christmas to taking them swimming, to just hanging out and enjoying their company, she was in.  Wonda was one of a kind, and she will be greatly missed.

Wonda is survived by her children Daisy Renae Surber and Stephanie Lynn (Randy Hill) Roberts; her grandchildren Kamron VanHorn, Joseph Gottee, and Kerah Gottee; her great-grandchildren Iya, Kewane, and Kamron Jr, and Mason Jay; her mother Daisy Troxell; her siblings Jean (William) Gearlds, Ramona Darlene Hair, Rita Patterson, Rick Surber, Dalton (Tina) Surber, and Robert Surber; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and countless friends.

Wonda is preceded in passing by her father Willard Suber; her infant brother James; and her best friend Jenny Gardner.

Services for Wonda will be at 5 PM, Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 1 PM until the hour of service.
