William Charles Ramsey, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 13, 2024. Born in Beech Grove, on December 28, 1960, to C. Denver and Ruby (Vance) Ramsey, William grew up in Indianapolis, IN..
William was a kind and giving person, known for his generosity and willingness to help others. William was a master carpet layer, known for his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft He worked tirelessly, continuing his labor right up until the day he died. His selflessness was evident in his actions; if he had something and you needed it, he would gladly give it to you.
William was adventurous, making even simple trips to the gas station exciting. He embraced a "live and let live" philosophy and was a firm believer in seizing every opportunity, living by the motto "you only live once." His love for music was well-known, and he had a unique talent for creating his own songs, including an unexpected knack for rapping.
William is survived by his children Destinny Welch, Haleigh Roberson, Larry Roberson, and Megan Southworth; his grandchildren Dereatha Light, William Welch, and Triston Ferrell; and his great-grandchildren Xzavier Welch, Jordan Welch, Triston Jr., Jaxson Ferrell, Kymirah Roberson, and Gage Roberson. He is also survived by his siblings Brenda Levi, E. Elaine (Lonnie) Garrett, Jennifer (Jeff) Carney, and Timothy (Deneise) Ramsey, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Dereatha Ramsey, his grandson Nicklaus, his great-grandson Azaiah Welch, and his brothers Mark Ramsey and Shawn Ramsey Sr.
