Virginia "Virg" "Ginny" Elizabeth Cox, 62, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
Virg was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 2, 1958 to Nancy Evelyn (Payne) Cox. She worked many different jobs before her health forced her to quit. Virg was one-of-a-kind. She was a clown and kept everyone laughing. She never concerned herself with her image, just happy to be herself, and everyone loved her for it. She was a bit absent-minded and oblivious in ways that put her in hilarious situations such as; one time at work she was smoking in the bathroom and thought she threw her cigarette out between her legs into the toilet, but hadn't, and it wasn't until she was waiting tables she realized she was on fire. Another time Virg didn't realize where she was going to sit at the bus station was a void between seats, and fell into the hole and folded like a clam, unable to get out by herself. She was a prankster, and just recently on a trip with her sister, while her sister was sleeping kept putting hot dogs in her mouth. She was fun, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored her for it.
Virg is survived by her sisters Charlotte, Lois, a brother, and several more sisters; her nieces and nephews including Stacy, Sandy, Bryan, and Mario; her grandchildren Lexis and Gregory; and her great-grandchildren Adrianna and Andrew (Jaden).
Virg is preceded in passing by her daughter Melissa Jane Cox and her mother Nancy Cox.
Visitation will be from 4 PM - 7 PM, Friday, January 29, 2021, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services
