Timothy "Tim" D Russell

Timothy "Tim" D Russell, 63, of Indianapolis, formerly of Monroe County, KY, cranked up his final jam on June 12, 2024. Born to Lawrence Lester and Ova Helen (Geralds) Russell on July 13, 1960, in Monroe County, KY, Tim was the embodiment of classic rock spirit and a hands-on wizard of the body shop world.

Tim’s life was a symphony of hard work and louder-than-life moments. He dedicated himself to the art of auto body repair, climbing the ranks to manager with the same grit and determination found in his favorite rock anthems. He didn't just fix cars; he passed down his automotive wisdom to his kids, especially to his daughter, ensuring she knew her way around a car engine.

The great outdoors was Tim's second stage. He reveled in the simplicity of camping under the stars, casting a line while fishing, and the serenity of the beach—a place he loved dearly until he had to trade the coastal waves for the heartland. But no matter where he was, the soundtrack of his life was always blasting—classic rock tunes at full volume, embodying his fun and spirited personality.

Concerts were his escape, his church, where he could lose himself in the music and energy of live performances. Known for his sharp wit and no-nonsense attitude, Tim never shied away from telling it like it is. His gruff exterior was merely a front for his immense heart; he was always ready to lend a helping hand and connect with people from all walks of life.

Surviving Tim are his children, Keeya, Billy, and Lavon; his sisters, Phyllis Thompson and Janette Emberton; a throng of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his all-time favorite band, Metallica, whose music fueled many of his best memories. He is now reunited with his parents, his brother Allois Russell, and his sisters Joyce Gettings and Betty Mable, forming a heavenly rock band of their own.

Join us in celebrating Tim’s life and legacy on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 4 PM at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation begins at 1 PM and will rock on until the service hour. Come ready to honor a man who lived life loud, loved fiercely, and left an undeniable mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
