Timothy Burnett

Timothy Burnett, was born October 27, 1949 to David Burnett and Mattie Bell Bellamy Burnett in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Timmy’s formative years were spent on the Southside of Indianapolis where he attended Public Elementary School and then Wood Technical  School.

Timmy faithfully attended Center United Methodist Church. He especially enjoyed reading and studying the Bible.

Tim (which he was also called) lived his life with ups and downs but that didn’t stop him. He always greeted you with that big smile and power hug! Tim’s laugh was engaging as was his never ending stories. Tim took pride in his work whether it was paid work, helping others, or volunteering for his favorite charity! There was nothing he could not figure out or fix except his phone! Tim loved the outdoors, especially riding his “Cadillac” of a bicycle. Tim was special and captured the hearts of many. He loved spending time with his family and friends whom he cared deeply about.

Timmy departed this earthly life on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the age of seventy-two years old. In addition to his parents, Timmy was preceded in death by one son, Shabazz Burnett, his siblings, William, Brenda and Ida Burnett.

Timmy leaves to cherish his memory, brother, William David (Remells) Burnett; sister’s Mary A Walton, Doris (Archie) Campbell, Kathleen (Kenneth) Adams of Land of Lakes, Florida, and Pamela (Harold) Cook. Special friends Andy and Glenda Hoffman, his church family, Centered Around Christ volunteers, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins, other relatives and friends.

A precious one from us has gone
      A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our home
        That never can be filled
As long as life and memory last

Services for Timothy will be 11:30 AM, Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Center United Methodist Church, 5445 Bluff Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46217. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the hour of service. Burial will follow services at New Crown Cemetery.
