Theresa Carlin, 59 of Indianapolis, passed away on September 23, 2021.
Theresa was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 6, 1962 to Ruth E. (Dawson) Brown and Clifford E. Brown Sr. She was a big animal lover and enjoyed taking care of her family. She had a giving heart and would help anyone in need. She had a few odd jobs but she felt that babysitting and taking care of her animals was more rewarding than working outside of the home. Her first job was having paper routes for her father with District 23 Brown’s Raiders. This allowed Theresa and her friends and family to go on many trips such as Washington DC, Florida and Canada, as well as St. Louis and Kentucky with the Indianapolis Star News. She was a homemaker and in the most recent years loved spending time with her nephew David Alan Brown and spoiling her animals.
She is survived by her husband Bennie Carlin, daughter KC Carlin, her brother Clifford Brown Jr and Rebecca Walton as well as her sister Tina (Brown) Kelley & her husband Marshall Kelley. Her surviving nieces include Amanda Kelley, Vickie Brown & Cassidy Brown. Her surviving nephews include Christopher Kelley and his wife Erin (Garey) Kelley as well as David Brown. She is survived by her grandchildren Destiny Klinglesmith, Jocelyn Butler and Andrew Carlin as well as her aunts Margie (Dawson) Helton and Margaret (Runyan) Dawson as well as many cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Louise Gibson, parents Ruth & Clifford Sr., her uncle Victor Dawson as well as her brother Mark Andrew Brown and her two sons Michael Edward Klinglesmith and Joseph Andrew Klinglesmith.
Although her loss was unexpected and heartbreaking for her family and friends we take comfort that she will finally be reunited with her son Michael who passed April 27th, 2011 and her son Joe that passed December 19th, 2015. Her heart never healed from their unexpected passing and although she lived long after their deaths, it was a struggle she dealt with daily.
