Tara Marie Capps, a vibrant and beloved local gal, passed away on July 7, 2024, at the age of 36. Born in Indianapolis, IN, to Virginia (Capps) Summers, Tara was known for her dynamite personality—a lot of boom in a very small package. Her spunky and outgoing nature made her a magnet for friendships, as she had a unique ability to connect with others and leave a lasting impression. Tara's infectious sense of humor brought joy and laughter to those around her, and her kind-heartedness was evident to those that knew her.
Tara was a loving and beautiful soul who cherished her family deeply, always prioritizing time spent with them. She was not only sweet and caring but also fiercely protective of her loved ones. Tara's sass and determination were legendary; she stood up for herself and her family without hesitation, regardless of the odds or the size of the opposition. Her tenacity and courage were traits to be admired.
As an aunt, sister, grandchild, daughter, and mother, Tara's roles in her family's life were numerous and treasured. She is survived by her daughters Serenity, Alaia, and Sahra Bragalone; her son Greyson Bragalone; brothers Toby Mills, Jerry Johnson Jr, Jaylin Summers (Joslynn), and Jacob Summers; and sisters Shara (Steven) Brown, Jena Soots (James Curry), Tesla Snyder (Keith Smith), Julia Rich (Dylan), Jenna Johnson (Jacob), and Natella Robinson. Her extended family includes her grandfathers Clifton Capps and Jack Sosbe, her great-grandmother Billie Williamson, and her father Jerry (Jennifer) Johnson. Tara's memory is also carried on by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding her in death are her brother Clifton Soots; grandmother Wanda (Davis) Sosbe; uncle Larry Neal Bray Jr.; and cousin Christopher Capps.
Tara's life, though cut far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and an unyielding spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends, serving as a reminder of her dynamic personality and the love she shared with those around her.
