Susan Ann Doty, 37, of North Vernon, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning on February 11, 2022.
Susan was born in Indianapolis, IN on March 12, 1984 to Donald and Ethel (Carpenter) Doty. She worked as a tax analyst for the IRS and at the family business "Don's Electrostatic Painting" as office manager and prepper, until lately where she was about to start working for the United States Post Office in North Vernon. Susan was incredibly smart, she loved to read and decided to go to college at Brown Mackie to be a paralegal and studied to be a paramedic because she thought it was interesting. She dominated at trivia games, to the point no one wanted to play her eidetic memory. As stubborn and smart as she was, she was never too proud to admit and apologize on the rare occasions she was wrong. She was a well-rounded intellect, she could fix cars, do home repairs, prepare taxes, to parenting, and book smart. She was sassy and stubborn, and in school she finished her work in record time and would tell the teachers "why are you trying to teach during my conversation? I've already done the work you gave me" because she was an unstoppable force of nature. She loved horses and dogs. For horses it was the care and riding them, her dog Roxie may as well have been her baby for how much she doted on her.
Susan was always herself. She never cared about others opinions, and certainly didn't put up with any crap from anyone. She was the Alpha sibling over her brothers, but was sneaky about it. Susan loved deeply, she loved helping everyone with anything and worse her heart on her sleeve. Her family was the most important thing to her, and she cherished them. They weren't safe from her wicked sense of humor either, and often got into one up contests with her brothers and dad to see who could take things further. She had a fighting spirit, she always tried her best no matter the circumstance, and she fought her demons hard. She proudly said she beat the Devil, and she was at peace with herself.
Susan is survived by her husband, Jerry (Culvahouse) Doty; her sons Jerry Culvahouse Jr and Landon (Oogie) Doty; her parents Donald E and Ethel Doty; her brothers Donald C. Doty and Daniel A. Henson; her nephews Nathan, Jordan, Jayden, Robert, Jaylon, and Jaycob; her nieces Brittany and Nicole; her Godson Logan Spencer; her dog Roxie, a German Rot; and many friends and extended family.
Susan is preceded in passing by her niblings Avori and Lucas.
Services for Susan will be 6 PM, Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 2 PM until the hour of service.
