Sunny G (Davis) Burkhart

Sunny Burkhart, 86, of Indianapolis passed away on October 2nd, 2023. She was born on July 13th, 1937 to the late Anice Davis, and Thomas Davis, in Louellen, Kentucky. Sunny met her late husband, Johnny Burkhart, in London, Kentucky. They got married on the 7th of September, 1957, and would go on to spend 63 years together before his passing in 2021. Sunny worked at Reilly Tar & Chemical and was also a bus driver for Decatur Central schools. Sunny loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, gardening, shopping, and cooking. Sunny is survived by her 2 children, Johnny Burkhart Jr. , and Ann Booher (Anthony), her grandchildren, Brock Burkhart, Jacob Koon, and Makenzie Koon, her sisters, Patty Clark, Darlene Davis, and Danni Rigsby. She is so loved and will be missed by many, including her caregivers for the last 5 years who loved her like she was their own. There will be a funeral held at Fountain Square funeral home Sunday, October 8th.
