Steven “Steve” McBrian Ward II, 35, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 25, 2025.
Steve was born in Indianapolis, IN, on November 3, 1989, to Steven and Ruth Ward. He had a good heart and a quiet strength about him—sometimes he came off a little rough around the edges, but those who knew him best saw how deeply he cared. He was all about his people and would move mountains for his family and friends without hesitation.
He was the mastermind behind countless gaming sessions of Destiny and Halo, always stepping into the leadership role and rallying the group. He was a skilled player too, often taking on the roles that made all the difference between success and failure. Gaming was more than just fun for Steve—it was how he bonded and showed up for his loved ones.
Steve loved his girls deeply and was proud to be their dad. He also had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, treating them like his own. He tried his best by everyone and cared deeply for those around him.
Steve is survived by his mother Ruth Ward; daughters Kyrielle, Karenthia, and Pheonix; siblings Anthony Michael Ward, Brandy Melissa Ward, and Matthew Steven Ward; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He is preceded in passing by his father Steven Ward I and his sister Rainey.
