In Loving Memory of Steven Putnam
January 10, 2026
Steven Patrick Putnam, 68, passed away on January 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and unconditional love. Steven was born February 24th, 1957, to John “Tom” Putnam and Alice Osman in Indianapolis Indiana.
Steven found happiness in the things he loved most: any and all movies, The Three Stooges, the band Heart, wrestling, Coca-Cola, and M&M’s. He was a devoted fan of Sammy Terry, and those who knew him will forever smile when thinking of the excitement and joy those characters brought him.
Above all, Steven loved his family deeply and completely, and his love was felt by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life. Steven taught those around him what it truly means to be compassionate, patient, and joyful.
He is preceded in death by his father John "Tom" Putnam, his Stepmother Betty Putnam, his older brother John Putnam, his longtime "honey" Cindy, and his great-nephew Beckett Hathaway.
He is survived by his mother, Alice Osman, his sisters Shareen (John) Klasing, Theresa Pritchard, Michelle (Jeff) Huff, and his brother Michel (Kim) Putnam. Many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who lovingly referred to him as Uncle Wee.
Steven had a heart that knew no limits—he truly loved everything and everyone, and he made the world gentler simply by being in it.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff and residents at Indiana Mentor Group home for the years of excellent care and love they showed Steven and the staff at Allisonville Meadows, and Community Hospice for their care over the last few months.
Visitation will be held at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services, 1420 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, IN 46203, on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 11am-1pm. Funeral service will begin at 1pm with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
