Ruth Ann Duff, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 14, 2025.
Ruth was born on March 17, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Walter Warren and Margaret Louise (Edwards) Adams. She was truly one of a kind—a real character with a heart of gold. Ruth had a deep love for flea markets and all things Elvis. If you went shopping with her, there was a good chance you’d end up buying her some Elvis merch whether you meant to or not. She was strong-willed and proud of it—changing her mind was no easy feat.
Ruth enjoyed the little things in life. She spent hours coloring with her gel pens, watching the Hallmark channel, or playing BINGO and poker, especially with family and friends. Some of her favorite memories came from her annual Florida trips with Joey and Stacy, something she looked forward to every year.
Kindness came naturally to Ruth. She treated everyone with warmth and generosity, always willing to lend a hand or an ear. But more than anything, she loved her family—especially her grandbabies, great-grandbabies, and great-great-grandbabies. She had a special bond with each of them and leaves behind so many fond memories.
Ruth is survived by her children, Candy Adams, Rosiebell DeWeese, Penny Ballard, David Duff Jr., and William McKinley Duff; her siblings Billy (Brenda) Adams, Harry Adams, Bobby (Angie) Adams, April Eversole, and Corenna Pinkston; sister-in-law Darlene Adams; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a big extended family of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
She is preceded in passing by her parents Walter and Margaret Adams; her husband David Duff; her second husband William Duff; her siblings Albert Adams, Rosemary Clark, and Richard Adams; and brothers-in-law Vernon Eversole and Jack Pinkston.
