Robert "Rob" Lee Gentry III

Robert "Rob" Lee Gentry III, 44, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 27, 2023. He was born on February 7, 1979, in Indianapolis, IN, to Robert L Jr and Audrey (East) Gentry.

Rob had an unwavering love for sports, passionately supporting his hometown heroes, the Pacers and Colts, while also following the Chicago Cubs. His heart was as vast as his love for sports; he had a special affinity for children and animals, both quick to feel the warmth of his kindness. Rob was unapologetically himself, a genuine soul always ready to step up when needed.

Family was the cornerstone of Rob's life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His caring nature extended beyond his immediate family, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. The world is undoubtedly a bit dimmer with his absence.

Rob is survived by his children, Robert IV and Tyler; his sister, Amy (Teddy); his nieces and nephews, Theo, Alexis, Tara, Katie, Chelseigh, and David; his great-nieces and nephews, Audrey, Charlotte, Chanlee, Deakin, Joey, Jameson, Kendal, and Teddie; the mother of his children, Melody Gentry; and brother-in-law Joey. He is preceded in passing by his parents.

Visitation for Rob will be held from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Funeral services will take place at 1 PM on Thursday, December 7, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral services at Floral Park Cemetery.
