Robert "Bob" Tate, 85, passed away August 12, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born in 1936 in Castleton, IN to James and Mary (Williams) Tate. He is survived by his daughters Margy Propes (Dwayne) and Candy Turner (Terry), 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Bob went to Lawrence Central High School. He was a mechanic for over 40 years working at Jerry Alderman Ford and Tom Wood Ford. Bob loved to travel and spend time with his family. He loved his dog, Sugar, and took her for golf cart rides daily. He enjoyed playing Bingo and scratching lottery tickets. He had a passion for bowling, bowling a 300 game at Woodland Bowl in 1996 and Sarasota Bowl in 2002. He loved to fish at the Rod & Reel Pier in Anna Maria Florida. He was a member of the Oaklandon Volunteer Fire Department in the early '70's.
After raising his family in Indianapolis, Bob and Deenie moved to Manatee RV Park in Ruskin, Florida where they lived for 20 years. They moved back to McCordsville, IN in 2018.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Deenie Tate, daughter, Charree Tate, sister Patricia Wood and his brother Don (Linda) Tate.
A celebration of life will be Saturday August 21st from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the McCordsville United Methodist Church 6247 W Broadway McCordsville IN 46055.
