Robert "Bobby" "Moose" "Pops" William Elder, 64, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 27, 2021.
Moose was born in Indianapolis, IN on December 13, 1956, to Robert Hansford and Mary Elizabeth (Hoge) Elder. He enjoyed working on cars and made a career of it, working as a mechanic all his life. He loved being outside, fishing and camping two of his favorite outdoor hobbies. He was an animal lover, both of cats and dogs, and he often tried to scheme ways to get small dogs from other family members. He enjoying hanging out at the bar and shooting pool. He was a wonderful storyteller, and never let the truth get in the way of a good one; and never revealed what was fact or fiction. He was ornery, and a character. Charming when he wanted and making you want to strangle him when he didn't. Despite his contrary nature he had a huge heart and was compassionate, stepping up and being responsible when no one else would.
Moose is survived by his children Wendy Elder, William (Jen) Elder, and April Elder; his bonus sons Albert, Robert, and Mikey Elder; his grandchildren Biggie, Matt, Marissa, Lil Will, Ricky, Dixie, and Elizabeth; the mother of his children Frances Gourley; his sister Georgia; and his cousin Brenda.
Moose is preceded in passing by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Elder and his siblings Cheddar and Sandy.
Services for Moose will be 6 PM, Monday, May 3, 2021 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 3 PM until the hour of service.
