Rickey Lynn Jett Sr

Rickey Lynn Jett Sr, 63, of Indianapolis, formerly of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at home peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Rickey was born in Hayswood Hospital Maysville, KY on December 28, 1957 to Howard and Margaret (Curtis) Jett. After graduating High School he went on to get a degree and worked in Heating and Cooling for 25 years prior to retiring. Rickey had a phenomenal work ethic, he was always working, even after he retired. His motto was "Don't call in, crawl in" and he lived by that creed. He was a charming and sharp businessman and could sell ice to an Eskimo.
Rickey enjoyed the simple things. He loved Godzilla movies, Spaghetti Westerns, and Star Trek. His guilty pleasure was Storage Wars and old cartoons like Snoopy and Charlie Brown. His favorite dinner was meatloaf.
Rickey was a compassionate and generous man, the type to give the shirt off his back. He never met a stranger and was always one to look on the bright side of things, while urging you to look with him. Above all he was a family man, and he wanted to always be with them. He adored his wife of 42 years Fannie, and if he could have gotten away with it would have had his entire family live with him. He loved being grandpa and spoiled his grandbabies like it was his job. His own children were half convinced he only had kids to one day be a grandpa. His absolutely favorite holiday was Christmas, in no small part because it was one that guaranteed to bring the whole family together.
Rickey is survived by his wife Fannie May Jones Jett; his children Jonie (Donnie), Rickey "Bud" (Janette), Jason (Emily), and Shawn (Jennifer); his grandchildren Desi, Jason Jr, Gabe, Shawn Jr, Daisy, and Natalie; his siblings Bonnie, Betty, William, Glen, Linda, Charles, and Lynnie.
Rickey is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Margaret Jett; his brother Ronnie Jett; parents-in-law Charles and Elizabeth Jones; and brother-in-law Charles.
Services for Ricky will be 1 PM, Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the hour of service.
