Richard "Rick" Gibson Obituary

Richard "Rick" Lee Gibson, 66, of Indianapolis, formerly of Mt. Sterling, KY, passed away on April 11, 2022.

Rick was born in Mt. Sterling, KY on February 1, 1955 to Paul and Ruby (Daly) Gibson. After graduating high school he took his knack for being handy into a career and was a general contractor. When he was younger Rick enjoyed hunting, but he never lost his love for fishing. One of his favorite things to do was go on the lake and fish with his sons. He also enjoyed traveling when able. Rick was the silent support that you needed, for instance he'd go dancing, but he wouldn't dance, just be there for you. He was the quiet gentle giant, with a solid presence but a very even temper. He was a good, kind man whose kindness shown through, and he never met someone who didn't like him. He was a great father and a loving husband who will be missed.

Rick is survived by his wife Gayle (Lindley) Gibson; his sons John Wankmiller and Brandon Gibson; his brother Eddy Gibson; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and many friends.

Rick is preceded in passing by his parents Paul and Ruby Gibson, and his sister Joyce.
