Richard Lee Bowen, 66, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 24, 2025.
Richard was born on May 16, 1959, to John and Dorothy (Weaver) Bowen. He was a lifelong sports fan who enjoyed just about every game—football, basketball, racing—you name it. He rooted for Kansas City, the Colts, and of course, the Pacers.
He loved fishing, working with his hands, and was always up for a good game of darts or a round of bowling. In his younger days, he and his dad were often found working on cars together, and that passion later turned into a hobby of building model cars. Richard also appreciated a chance to unwind and relax with a cold drink in hand.
Richard had a good heart and a lot of love to give. His kind nature and easygoing spirit will be missed deeply by those who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter Felicia Bowen; stepson Mark Oliver; grandchildren Christopher Lawrence, Amber Dunn, Corey Dunn, and Lindsey Skaggs; siblings Shirley (Steven) Schafer, Joann Johnson, John Sr. (Carmen) Bowen, and Linda Matney; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, John and Dorothy Bowen; his wife Betty Bowen; and brothers-in-law Billy Johnson and Wayne Matney.
