Rhonda P Montgomery - Hasell

Family archives record an exciting historic event which occurred in the family of the William and Georgia Pauline Montgomery, of Indianapolis, IN on March 30, 1960.

In the midst of the world’s headline “John F Kennedy wins Presidency Election” headlines in the family was “A Beautiful Baby Girl Was Born”

Most importantly, the child named Rhonda Patricia was the second in the Montgomery’s Family History. Her presence brought so much delight, joy, and happiness into the family. Rhonda was the third child born out of eight children to her biological mother, Imelda Hardy.

Rhonda accepted Christ at an early age.  In fact, her family’s home was next door to the church, Irvington First Baptist under the leadership of Pastor John D. Adaway. She later attended Universal Ministries Worldwide Church under the leadership of Apostle William M Payne.  She loved him and all of the members.

Rhonda had 6 children, Mistee, Ashlee, Kandyce, Marlon, Maliya’ha, and Xavier.  Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents William and Georgia, and her biological parents Imelda and Bradley Hardy, three brothers William “Billy” Montgomery, Clarence, and Freddie Sr.

Rhonda attended IPS #85 and #57 for elementary education, and Carl Thomas Howe High School in Indianapolis, IN. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was also an adoptive/foster mother to several kids.

Rhonda was known for being a great cook, wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, sister-in-law, cousin, a friend, and a Best Friend who will be missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.

Rhonda had an infectious smile, she loved life, and lived it to the fullest her way. Her personality was a drawing card for many friendships, and she loved to host parties.  She loved people! She was someone who met no strangers. In her leisure time she enjoyed going to the casino, playing card games, and listening to Gospel Music, her favorite song being “Sometime I Cry”.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her youngest three children. She looked forward to family gatherings, at her house. Rhonda had the tenacity in the family, she had the will to keep the family together at any cost.  She was very family-orientated and her family was the most important thing to her.

Rhonda united in holy matrimony to Yvonne Hasell on February 14, 2012. They had a love so strong it was able to conquer any storm that came their way, even to the end.

Rhonda went to be home with the Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 9:30 AM at

59 years, 1 months, and 10 days old.

Rhonda leaves to cherish her memory a loving and loyal wife Yvonne Hasell; her daughters Mistee (Kenneth) M. Wells, Ashlee N. Lane, Kandyce Y. Lane, Maliya’ha M. Lane; her sons Marlon M. Lane, Xavier L. Miller; 2 stepsons Michael D. (Heather) Hasell, Carl L Hudson Jr; 7 grandchildren; 1 godson; 2 brothers Joseph W. Adams and Kevin (Geiovonnia) Leachman; 2 sisters Stephainey Ealy and Karen A. Leachman; a best friend Delores Harrison; godmother Ms. Claudine Jones; aunt Diane Archey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
