Reba J. Jump, 84, of Indianapolis, formerly of Louisville, KY, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020.
Reba was born in Louisville, KY on June 3, 1935 to Vera Johnson. She graduated from Washington High School in 1953. Reba dedicated her life to her family, and she was the quintessential wife and mother, she took care of everything and everyone. She was the peacekeeper and the peacemaker, the glue that held everyone together. She kept the house tidy, but the garden was her kingdom. She had a very talented green thumb and transformed her backyard into a floral wonderland. Reba was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed classic country music from the greats like Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Sr. She liked watching all the westerns on TV, as they played her favorites like Gunsmoke and other old classics.
Reba was a very accomplished painter, her landscape portraits are beautiful. She was a huge fan of Bob Ross and had many tapes of his shows. Many of her works are hanging in her children's homes.
Reba is survived by her children Ronnie Nix, John Jump, Michele Jump, and Gary Jump; her beloved dog Love; her brother-in-law Russell Sterrett; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Reba is preceded in passing by her husband Robert Jump, whom she had been married to since February 3, 1973; her son Charlie Nix Jr.; her sister Kittye Sterrett; her brother J.B. Bruton; and her parents Vera and Marion Johnson.
Funeral services for Reba will be 11 AM Monday, June 8, 2020 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Family and friends are welcome to visit on Sunday, June 7, from 3-6 PM at the funeral home.
