Raymond Cordell Haney

Raymond Cordell Haney, 88, of Greencastle, formerly of Jackson County, TN, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019.

Raymond was born in Jackson County, TN on May 1, 1930 to Harrison and Leana (Pippin) Haney. He was very smart, and a self-made man, he worked hard for everything he had.  .  Raymond was great with his hands, he was always building things or working on cars.  He enjoyed traveling, especially to mountainous places.  As the eldest of 7 children, he took his duty as big brother seriously.  He left school early to help support his family. He was very protective of his family, especially his brothers.  He always stayed to make sure they were all okay, even to the very end. 

Raymond is survived by his children Carol Haney, Murrell Simmons, and Rickc Guthrie; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Raymond is preceded in passing by his parents, Harrison and Leana Haney and his 6 brothers.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM, May 1, 2019 at Washington Park East.
