Randal Payne Obituary

In Loving Memory of

Randall Payne was born on February 12, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Jimmie Payne and Julia Evans-Holbert. He attended Indianapolis Public Schools.

Randall, affectionately known as “Randy,” worked various jobs throughout his life and generously volunteered with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s PAL Program. As a youth, he attended the Keenan-Stahl Boys & Girls Club.

Randall married Crystal Pruitt, and together they shared many years of life and companionship.

He enjoyed drawing, riding his moped, and eating good food. Randy had a unique personality and sense of humor. In addition to “Randy,” he was also known to many by another name he proudly shared — “Casper.”

Randall passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 66. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Payne and Julia Evans-Holbert; his brother, Thomas Payne; and his nephew, Duane Alexander II.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Crystal Payne; his brothers: Anthony (LeSans) Alexander, Duane Alexander, Jimmie Payne, and Robert Payne; and his sisters: Elise Lorraine Bernard, Edwina Elaine Ferrell, Rosemary (Steve) Smith, Karyn (Emerson) Wynne, Madelyn Wright, and Anita Hill. He is also survived by 26 nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, his Aunt Frances Raine, along with many cousins and friends.

Randall also leaves behind special friends Maria and the Rodriguez family, who held a special place in his life.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all family members who cared for Randy during his times of need.
