Phyllis Ellen Steenbergen, 66, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 22, 2021.
Phyllis was born in Indianapolis, IN on February 10, 1954 to John Cull Blakely and Agnes (Roach) Lawson. She worked many jobs over the course of her life, but the last one she held was at a Krispy Kreme Donut Shop, before her health forced her to stop. Phyllis was into crafts and talented at sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She enjoyed the classic scary movies like Halloween or Night of the Livng Dead. She was a homebody who enjoyed her solitude.
Despite enjoying her alone time, she adored her family. She loved her son, his wife, and their children fiercely. She was creative and liked to write, especially making up birthday songs and poems for her loved ones. Phyllis also loved horses and horseback riding.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Charles (Janay) Steenbergen; her grandchildren Jeremiah, Jalen, and Jayla, all Bailey-Steenbergens; her siblings James, Eddie, Mike, Becky, Mae, Debbie, and Dean; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and friends.
Phyllis is preceded in passing by her husband Kenny Steenbergen; her father John Blakely; and her mother Agnes Lawson.
Funeral Services for Phyllis will be 5 PM, Monday, February 1, 2021 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 2 PM until the hour of service.
