Phyllis Faye Allen, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 1, 2025.
Phyllis was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 4, 1943, to Glen and Florence Edna McDonald VanValkenburg.
She was a strong woman with equally strong opinions. Phyllis wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself or the people she loved. Her family meant everything to her—especially her children and grandchildren. One of her favorite things to do was take pictures, capturing moments and memories with the people she cared about most. She didn’t play around when it came to her Pepsi—it was her favorite drink, and everyone knew not to mess with it.
Phyllis is survived by her children David Anthony Allen and his wife Kimberly, Jerry Wayne Allen Jr and his wife Stephanie, and Sandra Kay Sims and her husband Nick; grandchildren Justin, Heather, Tiffany, Samantha, Cheyanne, Tara, and David Jr; her sister Deloras Means; as well as many great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.
Phyllis is preceded in passing by her parents Glen and Florence VanValkenburg; her husband Jerry Wayne Allen Sr; and her brothers Bobby and Rex VanValkenburg.
