Pamela “Pam” Kaye McClanahan, 48, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 4, 2024. Born on August 21, 1976, in Indianapolis to Daniel and Margaret “Peggy” (Winker) Kraus. She may have been born “Pamela” but unless you were her mother, she was Pam to you.
Pam spent her career as a dispatcher for Pillow Logistics until the Covid pandemic changed her path. She was known for her love of travel, and one of her favorite places to visit was Anna Maria Island in Florida. Pam and her husband Kevin often talked about the trips they had planned for the future. She had a natural talent for darts—surprising many who underestimated her—and enjoyed the occasional adventure to the casino.
Pam was the heart and soul of her family, the one who held everything together. She had a way of taking care of everyone, whether they were family or one of the many children she unofficially “adopted” along the way. Her warmth and kindness drew people to her, especially kids, who seemed to instinctively know she was someone they could trust. Pam had an enormous heart, and she shared her love freely with those around her.
She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Pam is survived by her beloved husband, Kevin; her mother, Peggy; her stepchildren, Douglas, Dustin, John, and Jeremiah; her bonus daughter, Kristen; her siblings, Kerri and Kyle; her nieces, Ashley, Bailey, Karley, and Hailey; great-nephew, Alexander; great-niece, Prim; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Kraus, and her niece, Kendra.
