Otis Allen Jr Obituary

A Brief Sketch of Life

OTIS CLAY ALLEN JR, Otis Clay Allen Jr, the son of Otis Clay Allen Sr and Dorothy Mae (Love) Allen, was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 16, 1952. Otis was the oldest son and second eldest of their 5 children.

OTIS, as a youth, attended Hillside Christian Church and later in life he accepted Christ as his Savior.

OTIS was educated in the Indianapolis Public School system attending Elementary Schools #26. Otis went to Arsenal High School. He later joined the United State Marine Corp and served from October 1971 to July 1973. During this time Otis joined union with Patricia (Kendrick) Allen.  He was a father to a son, 2 daughters, and a stepdaughter.

During these years Otis was employed at Interstate Foundry for over 10 years. He also worked for Reeds & Son Roofing for several years. He was able to obtain several certifications of HVAC Technician, ACE Machinist, and Small Engine Repair.

Otis loved loved loved to fish and have a beer or 2. He was an avid hunter and many times would bring home dinner.  He kept busy repairing parts or working on his truck, spending time with his brothers, family, and friends. He never would mind giving a helping hand as long as the person he’s helping didn’t mind being told to move out the way! During the later years of life, his days were consumed with his best friend “Sparkle”. Anywhere you saw him, you would see her (in the front seat riding shotgun).

Otis was a man of few words but felt that action was the best way to say anything. He loved when people would visit and would always make you feel welcome.

OTIS CLAY ALLEN JR. departed this life on Monday, November 8, 2021, at the age of 69 years old.  He was preceded in death by his father Otis Clay Allen Sr.; his oldest sister Mary Ann (Allen) Golden; his younger brothers Glenn Thomas and Curtis Wayne Allen; and nephew Cleveland Golden.

Otis leaves to cherish his memory his mother Dorothy Mae Allen; one sister Zettie (Allen) Cotton; one son Brian (Ebony) Scott; three daughters LaTina Allen, Patrice Allen, and LaRonya Kendrick; grandsons Jaylin, Brian Jr, Vincent, Marquez, Jacarr, and Braylon; granddaughters Devenee, Devenae, Brionna, Brayla, Rian, and Justice; great-grandsons Jayden and Julius; great-grandaughters Justice, Brielle, Jasmine, Ra’Shyah-Michelle; and a host of relatives and friends.
