Mona Darlene Murphy

Mona Darlene Murphy, 67, passed away on May 13, 2024.

Mona, born on January 19, 1957, to Kenneth Wayne and Lois “Delores” (Farmer) Walton, left an undeniable mark on the lives she touched.

Mona's journey was one of determination and achievement. Rising to the position of Head of HR at Crystal Flash, her ascent was a testament to her relentless work ethic and innate intelligence, despite lacking formal degrees. She embodied the spirit of a true go-getter, always ready to tackle challenges head-on, with a knack for self-learning.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mona was very creative. Her artistic endeavors, from stained glass crafting to knitting, were impressive and beautiful. Alongside her artistic flair, Mona possessed a mischievous sense of humor, delighting in innocent pranks and spreading joy wherever she went.  She was a character and loved making others laugh. She loved dogs and shared a few with her daughter, shared because they lived next door to one another and it was more often the dogs who decided whom they lived with, rather than the humans.

But above all, Mona was a pillar of family strength. An adoring mother to her son and confidante to her daughter, she reveled in the roles of aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love knew no bounds, she was always there whenever they needed her.

Mona is survived by her mother Lois (Delores), her children Desirae Markley and Christopher Murphy, her grandchildren Jonathan Geer, Jacob Geer, Jason Geer, Madalynn Day, and Silas Geer, her great-grandchildren Bella, Connor, Kiara, Rowan, Myla, and Beckman, her son-in-law Jeremiah Geer, her nieces and nephews Michelle, Kimberly, Suzanne, and Thomas, and her sister-in-law Katherine "Kathy" S Harrell.
She is preceded in passing by her father Kenneth Walton and her brother Richard L Walton.

Mona's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched and the memories she created.
