Michelle "Shell" R Abner, 49, of Kentucky, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021.
Shell was born in Indianapolis, IN on November 1, 1972 to Larry Stanlee Abner and Penny Kelly. She was a Hotshot truck driver who ran her own business. Shell was a hard worker with an impeccable work ethic. She was tough as nails and was always doing something. There wasn't a State in the US Shell hadn't been to. She loved the open road, to travel, especially in the rural areas. She was so happy to be living on a farm with her animals, and her pet cow Stubby. Shell always felt her best in nature.
Shell had a heart of gold. She was everyone's mom. She was the kind of woman to give you the shirt off her back and a place to stay if you needed it, no questions. Even though she herself was affected by the tornado that hit Kentucky, she still took supplies to others who were worse off than her. Shell was very loving and kind, and fiercely loyal. Her family was so important to her and she was very protective of her children and grandchildren. Her grandbabies were the light of her life and she loved on them whenever she could.
Shell is survived by her beloved husband Charles Key; her children Brittney White, Larry Abner, Heaven Key, Christian Hill, and Peyton Vibberty; her grandchildren Isiah, Kole, Brianna, Christian Jr Naiya, Justin, and Mia; her mother Penny Kelly; her sister Angie Eaton; her niece Carmen Abner, whom she considered like another daughter; her pet cow Stubby; 4 step-brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Shell is preceded in passing by her father Larry Stanlee Abner and her granddaughter Nevaeh.
Services are 1 PM, Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the hour of service.
