Michael "Mike" Lee Parsley

Michael "Mike" Lee Parsley, a resilient and self-made individual, passed away on June 22, 2023. He was born on May 18, 1971, in Indianapolis, IN, to Carolynn (Martin) McGuffin. Mike's life journey was marked by his unwavering determination and his willingness to lend a helping hand to others.

As a self-taught and self-made electrician, Mike worked tirelessly to achieve his goals. His strong work ethic and dedication were evident in his craftsmanship. Mike's willingness to assist others showcased his compassionate nature and his genuine desire to make a positive impact on those around him.

While he may not always have expressed it openly, Mike cherished the role of being a father. The love he held for his children was immeasurable, and he treasured the moments spent with them. Fishing and deer hunting were among the activities that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature.

Mike had a generous heart and easily welcomed new family members into his life. His capacity to love and accept others was a testament to his compassionate nature. He continuously pushed himself to be better, striving for personal growth even in the face of challenges.

He is survived by his children, Jessica Carlton and Michael Parsley II, and his grandchildren, Ryleigh, Gracyn, and Ensley. His sisters, Debbie and Dawnyel, along with the mother of his children, Jennifer Atkinson, also mourn his loss. Mike will be deeply missed by his five nephews, one niece, and countless others whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in passing by his biological father, Steve Parsley, and the man who raised him, Terry McGuffin. The loss of his daughter, Christina Maria, his sister Brenda, and his brother John has left a void that will forever be felt.

Though Mike's journey may not have always been easy, he strived to be the best version of himself. His legacy of hard work and a big heart will be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he find eternal peace.
