Michael "Mike" Wayne Langford, a loving husband, devoted father, talented artist, and cherished friend, peacefully departed this world on August 24, 2023, in Indianapolis, IN, at the age of 67. Born on August 8, 1956, Mike's journey through life was filled with creativity, laughter, and a deep love for family and friends.
Mike's career path was a testament to his versatility and willingness to embrace new challenges. He worked as a machinist for many years, mastering the intricacies of his craft before transitioning to become a truck driver. However, it was his passion for all things cowboy that truly set him apart. So much so, that friends affectionately referred to him as "Cowboy." He was rarely seen without his signature cowboy boots and hat, embracing the spirit of the Wild West with pride.
An incredibly gifted artist, Mike's talents knew no bounds. He possessed the remarkable ability to express himself through various art forms, whether it was drawing, painting, or music. His musical prowess was particularly outstanding, with a voice that could channel the essence of Elvis Presley himself. Mike's artistry brought joy and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to witness it.
Mike had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors, finding solace in the beauty of nature. Hunting and fishing were not just pastimes but cherished activities that allowed him to connect with the world around him. His love for adventure was only matched by his charisma, quick wit, and charming personality.
Generous and loving, Mike had a heart that knew no bounds. He was fiercely loyal and protective, especially when it came to his beloved sisters. His devotion to his family and friends was unwavering, and he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion.
Mike is survived by his sister, Christina Rowland, and his sons, Todd Ashlock and Anthony Ashlock. His memory lives on in the hearts of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in passing by his parents and his beloved wife, Sharon Langford, as well as his sister, Rebecca Lynch.
As we bid farewell to Mike, may we carry with us the echoes of his laughter, the beauty of his art, and the warmth of his love. His spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
