Mr. Michael James Savage, 63, of Fishers was called home after an 18 year battle with cancer on Sunday, February 23, 2020.
Mike was born on December 18, 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Howard J. Savage and the late Eileen Day Tyler.
Mike had been a hairdresser for 30 years, working in both North and South Carolina.
In 2000 Mike returned to Indianapolis and started a 15 year association with Flanner Buchanan Funeral Centers. He worked in their care center as a hairdresser until he retired in October 2017.
Mike was a member of Powerhouse Church of Deliverance of Indianapolis.
Mike is survived by his sons, Britton J. (Maria) Savage of Conway, South Carolina, Bobby A. (Julia) Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; mom, Nancy Savage with whom he made his home; sisters, Jane Lane, Karen Strong of Indianapolis; brother, Clifton J. Savage of Westfield, Indiana; and six Grandchildren. Mike is also survived by a close friend and his angel on earth, Kathy Gosser.
Mike is preceded in death by his son, Brandon M. Johnson; parents, Howard and Eileen; sisters, Susan E and Susan Kaye.
Funeral Services honoring Mike’s life will be on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 1:00pm at Fountain Square Cremation and Funeral Services. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 11:00am until the hour of the service.
Following the service, Mike will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
