Michael Dennis Ashley

Michael D. Ashley, 71, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in Greenfield. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on December 18, 1953, to Henry and Barbara Ashley.

On November 7, 1987, Michael married Sandra McDowell. Together, they shared more than four decades of love, partnership, and family life. Michael found great joy in spending time with his family and especially cherished watching football with Sandra. His role as a husband, father, and grandfather brought him deep pride and fulfillment.

Michael is lovingly remembered by his children, Stefanie (Uriah) Binion and Kristina Ashley; stepson, Chad McDowell; his brother, Tedd Ashley; sister, Gerrie Harris; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ada Ashley and Barbara and Dominic Lortie, and by his beloved wife, Sandra Ashley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Michael’s memory and the legacy he leaves behind.
