Mary Louise Driscoll, a resilient fighter and a beloved soul, passed away on December 9, 2023, in Indianapolis at the age of 71. Born on March 9, 1952, in the heart of Indianapolis, Mary was the daughter of William O. and Artha Dale (Grider) Haley.
Mary dedicated many years of her life as a parts inspector at Mitchell and Scott Machines, showcasing her commitment and work ethic. She was known for her down-to-earth style, often seen in her preferred attire of blue jeans and t-shirts, embodying a simplicity that endeared her to those around her.
A competitive spirit, Mary found joy in playing cards, with Rummy and Spades being among her favorites. Her passion for Spades was so fierce that some family members still remember the intensity and refuse to play to this day. Yahtzee was another game she enjoyed, adding laughter and camaraderie to family gatherings.
Throughout her 54-year marriage to Leroy, Mary was a devoted partner, accompanying him on their travels for both pleasure and ministry. A dedicated believer, Mary found solace and community in Free Spirit Baptist Church in recent years.
As a mother and grandmother, Mary's love knew no bounds. She leaves behind cherished memories for her surviving family, including her husband Leroy, children Tina (Vic) and Lori, and daughter-in-law Alicia. Mary's legacy lives on through her grandchildren Damion, Anthony, Elizabeth, Jace, and Alivia, as well as her great-grandchild Dakota.
Mary's strength and determination were evident in her battles with health issues over the years. Her stubborn spirit carried her through, but on December 9, 2023, she took her final rest. Mary is preceded in passing by her parents, her son Brian, and all her siblings.
Funeral services to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will take place from 11 AM until the start of the service, followed by burial at Concordia Cemetery.
In our hearts, Mary will be dearly missed, but her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and love for those fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal embrace of her faith and the enduring love of her family and friends.
