Linda Thurston Obituary

Linda Lou Thurston, a fiery force of nature at 75, bid her earthly farewell on February 13, 2024, leaving behind a trail of laughter and memories in her wake. Born on February 22, 1948, in the small town of Fulton, KY, Linda was a spitfire from the start.

With a green thumb and a penchant for all things floral, Linda's love affair with gardening was renowned. She tended to her blooms with the same ferocity she approached life, with yellow roses reigning supreme in her garden kingdom, closely followed by the regal presence of purple irises.

Fueled by potent mix of caffeine and nicotine, Linda embraced life with a hearty dose of humor and authenticity. Her wit was as sharp as her love for her dogs, whom she cherished with unwavering devotion. She possessed a knack for cutthroat comedy, her dry sense of humor leaving laughter in its wake. Unapologetically herself, she spoke her mind with a refreshing frankness, unafraid to ruffle feathers with her honesty.

In the realm of sports, Linda pledged her allegiance to Peyton Manning, steadfastly supporting him regardless of the team he played for. Her fondness for Facebook kept her connected to her vast network of friends and family, where she delighted in sharing snippets of her life and keeping in the loop in what was going on in others.

Family was the cornerstone of Linda's existence, and she reveled in the warmth of holiday gatherings and family traditions. Her culinary prowess knew no bounds, with comfort foods like  down-home Deviled Eggs to stick-to-your-ribs classics like Chicken N Dumplings and Meatloaf being her specialties; her cooking fed both body and soul. Whether cooking up a storm or spoiling her grandchildren with treasures from Marshalls, she found joy in caring for those she loved.

Linda is survived by her children Lisa (Kelly) Goins, Tony Burns, Shane Burns, and Christine Thurston; her cherished grandchildren Austin, Brandon, Jesse, Torre, Haley, Anthony, Jordan, Gavin, Jazmaine, and Jacob; several siblings; dear friends Steve Wagers and family, and Phillip Smith Brown; her loyal canine companions Itsy, Mitsy, Pockets, and Sadie; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Linda is preceded in passing by her husband Ronald Louis Thurston; her father Ardell Craddock; mother Virginia Madding; and several siblings.

Memorial services to celebrate Linda's life will be held at 2 PM on March 2, 2024, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services, with visitation starting at 12 PM until the hour of service.
