Linda Louise Jarvis, 61, of Indianapolis, formerly of Beech Grove, passed away on April 30, 2021.
Linda was born on December 24, 1959 to Jack Carter and Frances Roberta (Caine) Rutherford. Linda was funny, she could always brighten a room. She also brightened every room because of all the bling she wore. She loved jewelry and fashion, and getting her makeup and nails done. She loved being pampered by her grandkids, and getting make-overs from them. She was quick to "borrow" from everyone, but her version of borrowing meant it was hers forever. She was a hoarder of clothes, her closet stuffed full of knew things, because whatever she wanted, she got. She made shopping an Olympic sport, even grocery shopping, she would spend hours going up and down every aisle daily if she could.
Linda liked to color and to cook. Her best dishes were her chicken n dumplings and banana pudding. She always had to have her Sprite, and cottage cheese and fudge bars were her vices. She had a specific pound cake she bought a lot of, and always attempted to hide it places so no one would find her treats. Purple and white were her favorite colors, but white was hard to maintain when you became the mama of every kid you met. She bleached her laundry so hard her husband Timy started doing his own, tired of looking like an orange leopard when she was through. Her dog Chloe was her baby and she doted on her. Chloe ate what she ate, and one time when the groomer messed up a cut, it almost came to blows and jail time. But that's who Linda was, someone who loved and loved hard, and always went to bat for her family. She was tough and spunky. Her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids were her world. She loved them more than anything and would do anything to help them. She was the rock of the family and her beautiful soul will be greatly missed.
Linda is survived by her husband Timy Jarvis, whom she had been with for 43 years; her children Nancy, Gary, Felicia, Mae, Amy, and Lynn; her grandkids Myreesa, Devonte, Karl, Kobe, Tiffany, Haley, Jazmine, Mimi, Ashley, Courtney, Brianna, Kaydence, Lydell, Joshua, Ashtyn, and Heaven; and 19 great-grandkids; and of course, her favorite, her baby Chloe. ~We will love you always and forever~
Linda is preceded in passing by her parents, Jack and Frances Rutherford.

A wife, a mother, a grandma too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep
