Lee "Skip" VonHauger II, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 26, 2021.
Skip was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 7, 1941 to Lee and Theodora VonHauger. Skip was self-employed and a self-made man. Whatever he set his mind to, he accomplished. He lived by his own rules and had the uncanny ability to make things happen. He was a natural born hustler and a local fixture. Skip was the Hot Dog King of Indy. He always took care of his business, and he always like to be building. He was a backyard carpenter and if he didn't know how to do something, he had no problems learning on his own.
Skip was fearless and never back down from a fight. It didn't matter what odds faced him, he met it head on. Skip had a compassionate heart and did more for people than most government agencies. He never turned away someone in need and was willing to offer odd jobs for room and board. He was silver tongued and charming, managing to woo just about anyone. He loved his kids and was always teaching them things.
Skip is survived by his children Tina, Leah, Venus, Mikey, Isiah, Chad, Isaac, Lexie, Megan, Adam, and Hannah; a legion of grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and many bonus kids he had a hand in raising; as well as many many friends.
Skip is preceded in passing by his parents, Lee and Theodora VonHauger and his son Skipper.
Funeral Services for Skip will be 3 PM, Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be form 1 PM until the hour of service.
