Katherine Faye Jessee

Katherine Faye Jessee, 68, passed away August 17, 2026. 

She was born in Indianapolis, May 20, 1958.

Katherine worked a variety of jobs from painter, seamstress, baker, to restaurant manager. She taught her children a strong work ethic, kindness, and disciplined with love. She was devoted to her family and mothered many, often giving to others while she went without. 

Katherine is forever in the hearts of her children, Daniel Griner, Tyrone Pounds Jr., Judy Calvert, and Tammie Calvert; 16 grandchildren, Lee, Ashley (Knudsen), Amber (Beers), Nicholas, Daniel, Linda, & Abigayle Griner, Camrin, Aaliyah, & Jeremiah Pounds, Gauge Manuel, Belleryn Sullivan, Sophiana, Giovanni, Jennavieve, & Gabriella Calvert; 4 great grandchildren, Riley, Raegan, Raina, & Ryan Knudsen; siblings, Michael Jessee, Joe Jessee, & Betty Mae Gardner; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael S. Calvert Jr.; brother, David Jessee; sister, Rebecca Gerking; father, Houston E. Jessee; mother & stepfather, Dolly Mae (Pitman) & Jerry McPike.

Services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, August 28, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Service, with visitation from 11:00 am until time of service. 

Her final resting place will be at New Crown Cemetery.
