In Loving Memory of Joy Lynn Rexroad

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joy Lynn Rexroad, who left this world on May 30 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 54 years old.

Joy lived a life marked by fire, love, and complexity. She was vibrant and unforgettable—someone whose laugh lit up a room and whose presence made people feel seen and alive. She loved fiercely and her spirit was the kind that refused to be contained. She was laughter, chaos, love, and fire.

She faced many challenges in her life,  yet even in her darkest moments, Joy never stopped fighting. And when cancer came, she fought that, too—with a strength and grace that amazed everyone around her.

To know her was to know someone utterly human—flawed, passionate, raw, and full of life. She wasn’t perfect, and she never pretended to be. But she was real. She gave the kind of love that left a mark. She taught us how to show up, how to feel deeply, and how to keep going, even when life felt impossible.

Joy was fire and tenderness all at once. She was loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed. She leaves behind her two parents Gene and Marliee Rexroad, her brother and his wife Roger and Jennifer Rexroad, their two children Clayton and Cassidy Rexroad, her three children Jacquelynne (Corey) Dicken, Whitney Rexroad, Jacob Rexroad, and her four grandchildren Sebastian Switzer, Willow, Calan, and Liam Dicken. All who love her deeply will carry her memory on with compassion and grace. .

There will be a memorial service held on June 21 at 11:00 at  Post Road Christian Church, where we will gather to remember the wild beauty of her spirit and the impact of her love.

In honor of Joy, donations can be made to American Cancer Society, A Better Life- Brianna's Hope, or Post Road Church. Her story is a reminder that people are not defined by their struggles, but by the love they give and the lives they touch.
