Joni Rigdon

Joni Ann Rigdon, 47, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, passed away June 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and best friend. 

She was born January 20, 1979, in Indianapolis. A 1997 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, Joni carried many fond memories of her childhood. She loved playing on the swing set with her brother, Jody, visiting Brown County State Park, eating breakfast at McDonalds with her dad, making noodles with her mom for Thanksgiving and celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family.

She met the love of her life, Joe, while in high school at a church youth group function. They were inseparable and eventually married in 2003. In the early days of their marriage they built a life and family in Greenwood, Indiana where they welcomed each of their sons, Jo Jo, Bradley and Brayden. It is here she met her best friend Sarah Coumbe and Sarah’s husband Tod.

A few years after the birth of Brayden, the lure of warm winters and beaches could no longer be ignored and the family moved to Florida making their home in the suburbs north of Tampa. 

Joni had a deep love for her family and found her greatest fulfillment in being a devoted wife and mom. She loved unconditionally and always put others before herself. She fought her battle with cancer with courage and strength, driven not by her own needs, but by her deep devotion to her family, especially her husband and sons. She continued to be a devoted daughter faithfully calling her dad everyday. 

Outside of her family life, she was a passionate fan of wrestling and had a love for Disney. She cherished her vacations to Walt Disney World where she enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy Ride and going to the beach with her family, best friend, Sarah, and Sarah’s family creating fond memories for all. 

Joni is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Lindy Joe Rigdon, Jr; sons, Lindy Joe III, Bradley, and Brayden; brother and sister-in-law, Jody & Elizabeth England; father, Gary England; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith (Roach) England; and grandmother, Margie (Jackson) Leffler. 

Services will be at 3:00 pm Monday, July 13, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services, with visitation from 1:00 pm until time of services.
