Johnny Langley Newby, 56, of Indianapolis, formerly of Trimble County, KY passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
Johnny was born in Carrollton, KY on May 8, 1961 to Bobby Gene and Charlotte Faye (Riddle) Newby. Johnny always had a strong work ethic from a young age. He would often go over to his neighbors in Trimble County to work on their farm, before moving to Indiana to persue farming. He worked on a hog farm for awhile before deciding he wanted to be a plumber. After 4 years of trade school he became a Master Plumber and started his own business, John's Plumbing. Incidently he was also known for having an iron stomach.
Johnny liked to travel. He loved boating on the Ohio River and to ride his Harley. His favorite passengers were his wife Melanie and his dog Sophie. He enjoyed going out to eat and watching ballgames. He loathed the Colts and his all time favorite team was the Kentucky WIldcats, of which he was a diehard fan. He had a taste for Southern Comfort food, especially sweet tea and a good dessert, like apple pie. He loved a cold beer on a hot day and to finish it off with a nice steak or a juicy burger. His family was the most important thing in the world to him, and he loved spending time with them. From playing with his dogs to being around his children and grandchildren to riding his bike with Melanie, he loved to do it all.
Johnny is survived by his beloved wife, Melanie (Leet) Newby; his daughters Erica (Jared) Kinslow and Jennifer (Joseph) Tinghitella; his step children Laura (Josh) Langton and Morgan Clemons; his grandchildren Dylan Kinslow, Noah Kinslow, Avery Tinghitella, Owen Tinghitella, and Lucas Tinghitella; his siblings Janeen Wise, Martha Stockdale, and Joe Newby; his dogs Blue, Eve, and Sophie; and many nieces and nephews.
Johnny is preceded in passing by his parents, Bobby and Charlotte Newby.
A Memorial Service for Johnny will be 7 PM, Monday, April 9, 2018 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 5 PM until the hour of service.
