John Henry Wiley, a hardworking man of Indianapolis, left this world on December 21, 2023, at the age of 61. Born on January 12, 1962, to George Henry Donald and Patricia Louise (Luke) Wiley, John was a man of simple pleasures and unwavering dedication.
With calloused hands and a strong work ethic, John excelled in his profession. He took pride in his job and approached it with a skill that earned him respect in the concrete world. When the workday was done, John knew how to unwind – a cold one in hand, surrounded by the warmth of family and friends.
An enthusiast of relaxed competition, John found joy in games like darts, pool, horseshoes, and the occasional round of volleyball. His generous spirit extended beyond the game, always willing to lend a hand and work tirelessly until a solution was found.
Family was at the core of John's world. His grandsons, Derrick and Charles, held a special place in his heart. Derrick, in particular, admired John as a role model, emulating his every move. Whatever John had, Derrick needed too, creating a bond that went beyond blood.
Survived by his wife Donna, daughter Dorothy, grandsons Derrick and Charles, and siblings Dennis, Joe, and Betty, John leaves behind a circle of nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
John joins his parents and siblings Nancy, Donnie, and Gary in the great beyond. Services to honor John's life will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services, with visitation beginning at 11 AM. His final resting place will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, where the echoes of a life well-lived will linger in the air.
