John Christopher Raney

John Christopher Raney, born on February 24, 1975, in Indianapolis, IN, to Rose M. Raney, and passed away on July 5, 2024.

John wore many hats throughout his life, from crafting displays at NRS to getting his hands dirty as a mechanic. He had a knack for tree work and trimming, often teaming up with friends for such tasks. Yet, cars were his true love—both working on them and racecars fueled his passion. John was known for his ornery nature and free spirit, never hesitating to be himself and speak his mind.

He leaves behind his siblings, Becky Downey, Kenny Raney, and Jason (Meagan) McDonough; his nieces and nephews Cassie Downey, Kyle Downey, Daisy McDonough, and Levi McDonough; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother Rose M Raney; niece Kelsey Wilson; and his brother-in-law, Robert Downey.
