John Scott Jones, 68, of Indianapolis, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020 after a long battle over two decades with multiple medical issues.
Scott was born on December 28, 1951 in Chicago, IL to Max and Patricia (Camp) Jones. He was a gentle soul and a sweet man, one of the kindest people you could ever hope to meet. He loved his son and grandson so much and they all lived together for many years.
Scott was a very talented musician. He loved his life being a drummer for two decades in a very successful rock and roll band. As he transitioned from performing he went through an incredible spiritual transition. Scott then spent the rest of his life serving churches in many ways. What he was most proud of was setting up several large Christian concerts across Indianapolis. He always looked forward to the afterlife and we can only imagine the joy he is experiencing. Scott’s loving kindness will be missed by those who’s lives have been so enriched to have him as a brother and friend.
Scott is survived by his son Daniel; his grandson Kevin; his sister Lesley Rutherford; his brothers Mark and Kim; Cousins John, Kathy, Carol and Brenda from the Camp family; and many cousins and nephews.
Scott is preceded in passing by his parents Max and Patricia Camp Jones.
