JoAnn (McKinney) Jones

JoAnn Jones, a vibrant and upbeat soul, passed away on July 25, 2023, at the age of 70.  She was born to Luke McKinney and Betty (Holt) Thomas, leaving behind a legacy of authenticity, humor, and generosity.

JoAnn's positive outlook on life was evident to all who knew her. With her characteristic blunt honesty, she fearlessly addressed the elephant in the room, often using humor to lighten the atmosphere. Her sharp wit and knack for jokes earned her the reputation of a jokester, brightening the lives of those around her.

Opinionated and true to herself, JoAnn never hesitated to speak her mind. Her genuine and authentic nature endeared her to friends and family alike. Her generous spirit knew no bounds, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

She found joy in simple pleasures, such as listening to country music, taking bike rides, and passionately supporting sports, particularly the Colts.

However, JoAnn's greatest source of pride and happiness was her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. They were her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her children Daryl Jones, Anthony (Alicia) Jones, and Shannon (Chris) Morris, along with her cherished grandchildren: Dylan, Caleb, Darron, Braydon, Kathryn, Jocelyn, Addyson, Easton, and Irelynn. JoAnn is also survived by her siblings Luke McKinney Jr, Michael McKinney, Gale Turner, Tammy Hubbard, Jeff McKinney, Mary Tipton, Melissa Lloyd, and Butch Thomas. Her stepmother, Brenda McKinney, her boyfriend, Kenneth Breese, and her best friend, Vecelia Martin, mourn her passing. She is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.

JoAnn's memory will be honored during the funeral service, which will take place on Sunday at 2 PM at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Prior to the service, visitation will be held from 12 PM until the start of the service.
