Jeanine Marie Smith

Jeanine Marie Smith, 85, passed away on May 21, 2024. Jeanine was born in Manton, Michigan on March 5, 1939, to Minard and Marie (Greeley) Huested. She worked incredibly hard for her family, loved fiercely, and always went all out for them.

Jeanine's enthusiasm for the holidays was legendary. During Christmas when the grandkids were young, she would rent a Santa suit and sleigh, driving it through the park with the kids' gifts on it, creating magical memories for everyone. She was a people person, outgoing, and always the life of the party. Whether enjoying a drink of her beloved Jose, relaxing to Willie Nelson, or both, she was always up for a good time. Fearless in being herself, Jeanine's creativity and unique character made her a beloved presence wherever she went.

She had a deep love for music, particularly reggae, and if Jeanine was at a gathering, you knew it would be a fun time. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Jeanine is survived by her children, Jeffrey "Kaimalino" Smith Sinclair and Carol Lynn Coleman; grandchildren Joseph E. Cooper, Natasha M. Smith, Edward Neil Cooper IV, and Jeanine "Nienie" N. Devio; siblings Jan Collins, Debbie Bressler, and Edwin Huested; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and friends.

Jeanine is preceded in passing by her parents; her siblings Lori Huested and Judy Richardson; and many friends.
