Jeanette Viola Perry, 68, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 9, 2025.
Jeanette was born on March 3, 1957, in Indianapolis to Charles and Charlene Smith. She was the heart of the family—the one who brought everyone together and made sure you showed up. And if you didn’t, she absolutely wanted to know why. She had a soft spot for her nieces and nephews, who she lovingly spoiled at every chance.
Jeanette loved to shop, even if she didn’t need a thing. Her family often joked that she had champagne taste on a beer budget, but that never stopped her from treating herself or others. She was as stubborn as they come—if she made up her mind, good luck trying to change it. But that same stubbornness also made her fiercely loyal and unwavering in her convictions.
Above all, Jeanette was a woman of faith. She was proud to be part of the Abundant Life Church and loved her church family deeply. Though her passing came too soon, there’s peace in knowing she’s now in her Heavenly Home.
Jeanette is survived by her siblings Diana, Jerry (Mary), Bill, and Allen (Donna Hale); and by her many beloved nieces and nephews: Anita, Tina, Tammy, Jessie, Megan, Samantha, Brittany, Danielle, Jason, Jeremy, Billy, JJ, Bobby, Addison, and Allyson. She also leaves behind a host of friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Charles and Charlene Smith; her husband, Fred Perry; and her brother Bill.
