James Matthew Winters Sr

James Matthew Winters Sr, 43, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

James was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 31, 1979 to Otis "Butch" Gilbert and Nancy Louise (Leathers) Winters.  James was hard working, he loved his job and took pride in doing it well.  He worked hard and rested hard, he was a man who could appreciate a good nights sleep.  He was dependable and always there when he was needed.  James loved his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren.  James was naturally happy, he was always making jokes and to meet him was to instantly love him.  James was a man of Faith, he attended One Body Ministry and had a strong relationship with God.  Although he was taken far too soon, we can take peace in that he is now at rest, in the presence of the Lord.

James is survived by his wife Michelle Rice; his children Cori (Joel) Rice and James (April) Winters Jr; his grandchildren Joel and Maria; his brothers Michael Winters, Otis Winters Jr, and Paul Winters; and many nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in passing by his parents Butch and Nancy Winters and his brother Robert Winters.

Services for James will be 2 PM, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the hour of service.
