James Duke Obituary

In Loving Memory of James DDemarcus Duke

James Demarcus Duke, aged 67, departed from this world on March 22, 2024. Born on January 11, 1957, in Cleburne, TX, James was the son of Billy Duke and Mary Virginia (Nix) Dunn. He lived a life as a wanderer, charting his course by his own compass, guided by his own spirit.

James found solace and purpose as a Ranchhand, where he forged bonds with both animals and the earth. His days were spent amidst the serenity of nature and the rugged beauty of the countryside, a life he cherished deeply.

James was not only a steward of the land but also a man of unwavering faith. In his youth, he embarked on numerous Mission Trips to Mexico, driven by his commitment to serving others and sharing his beliefs. His actions spoke volumes, reflecting the depth of his convictions and the kindness in his heart.

Prior to his life on the ranch, James honorably served his country in the Navy for two years. Though his time in service was cut short by an unfortunate accident, his dedication and sacrifice were never forgotten.

Quiet by nature, James was a man of few words, but his presence spoke volumes. When he spoke, it was with purpose, each word carrying weight earned through a lifetime of experiences.

James leaves behind his son, Shawn Duke, he is also survived by his siblings: Rita Kisko, Billy J Duke, Jimmy Duke, James Anderson Harris, Tammy Harris, Tommy Harris, Charlene Batchelor, and Stephen Arroga.

Though he has embarked on his final journey, James is reunited in the afterlife with his parents, Billy Duke and Virginia Dunn, and his brother, Bobby Duke.
